bruno-not a scary dog, but he sure did scare me!

okay. so, on wednesday p.m. i walked into the front room, and saw a ziplock baggie, where i had stored some semi-sweet chocolate chips. the problem was that the bag was ripped open, dumped on the couch, with at least half of them gone...chaco was looking up at me shaking his head, saying, "bruno. he's gonna be in so much trouble!" so i picked it all up as quickly as possible, knowing that chaco had just been waiting for his chance, because that's always the way it goes. bruno quietly instigates, and chaco is usually the one who joins in and gets caught...younger brother syndrome.

i wasn't too concerned, because he'd gotten into chocolate before (small doses...somehow he gets into my backpack when i forget i had it there). anyhoo. they had dinner, and a couple hours later, he began acting very strange-panting, pacing, laying on the floor and whimpering a little, i checked his heart rate-palpitating rapidly and that's when i began to worry. by this point it was almost 10 p.m., so i knew we were going to have to go to emergency care-ugh. as quickly as possible, i piled them into the car-which was a rental for the next day's training (i'd been planning to take my own, but the transmission sensor went out and the mechanic said no-way). so i didn't have their car seats-they just sat in the back on a blanket.

once we arrived, they buzzed me in, and there were two other ladies right behind me with their pup, who had be run over and was in bad shape. once the paperwork was done, we went back to a room, and the vet took bruno's temps and vitals, then took him back and they induced vomiting; when she came back to the room, she was very concerned because there was blood as well, so she took me back to where he was for a minute, and said they were going to run the blood tests, and put him on oxygen to get the breathing back to normal. so we went back to the little holding room and waited-definitely teared up at this point and could have used a glass of water. chaco just lay in my lap (i was glad i'd brought him, but i couldn't leave him at home, because he would've been a mess as he doesn't do well alone). finally after they got the results, she came back still concerned, as they weren't able to come to any conclusions. so she suggested leaving him overnight to monitor him and do another blood test later in the morning because she felt they weren't getting an accurate reading due to the food...so that was the plan; i'd be back to get him at 4:30 a.m. so i could take off for training in kilgore at 5:30.

the hardest part was that i had to initial a few different boxes, and decide whether to have them do cpr, or dnr. a couple of things went through my head. what stuck was-if they had to do that, who knows what quality of life would be like afterward. that's the worst feeling ever.

when we got home, ready for bed, it was close to midnight, and chaco got up on the bed, kinda' still looking around for bruno. i said goodnight to both of them-like always, and in 4 hours was up again, getting ready to go. when i arrived at the er this time, there was a different vet (2nd shift), and she was a talker. she said the same over and over in about 213 different ways...i kept trying to reassure her that i understood what she was saying and tell her what my plan of action was...finally it was determined that the results were still a little mysterious, and she couldn't quite pinpoint what had caused the bleeding; she was still concerned with a couple of the levels, and suggested going to my vet later in the day to retest for clotting factors. so with that we slowly backed out and took off. i knew he must've been feeling a little better, because the tech said bruno totally put on the breaks when she took him out to potty and walk-he was having none of that. sounds like bruno! he can be pretty stubborn.

once i dropped him off, google maps had me on my way to kilgore. it was about to be a long day! on the way there, i received a couple texts and a phone call from my people, and they know how much the boys mean to me-just checking up. once i got there and found the site, i was quite early, so i made my way to coffee (there was no starbucks in the vicinity, so gas station coffee was going to have to do!) and i called lori at that point, b/c i'd been trying to figure out how i was going to get back in time to get bruno to my vet. had it not been so late the night before, i probably would have dropped the key off with solange and asked her to take him (she's always been a champion for the boys), but that wasn't the case, and i'd not really been thinking about it. lori was very gracious and concerned-and pending numbers and how jane felt about doing the afternoon session, i would come back after the morning session. thankfully, jane was cool with it (not surprisingly, she gets dogs as family, too).

the first session was quite a crowd-they had moved us to a larger room, and we got everything set up and handouts handed out, and then the fun began! jane did the intros and explained what tx success is, and i jumped into the presentation from the get-go; thanks for the vote of confidence, jane! she was great about adding information as we went, and it was comfortable, so i've gotten my feet wet! after going through much of what istation is, answering questions as we went, we got into some hands-on activities. this was a great opportunity to chat with some of the participants to answer additional questions and help in whatever they were working on. it was a good session, but i think there were a couple of disgruntled folk, who wanted the program to do something it doesn't do...

lunch time came, and we cleaned up to get ready for session 2, which some were staying, but several had not registered and were returning to their campuses. so jane and i bid each other farewell, and i hadn't gotten to the main road, when i got a call from jane asking if i'd left the handouts for the 2nd session-OH NO!! so i turned around, took my backpack in, and realized that they were actually in the trunk of my car-at the transmission place. i'd brought the wrong ones-for austin. oops. so i quickly went in to trouble-shoot with the substitute secretary and shared the files we needed from my drive, and she was able to make copies for jane and we were good to go. i need to call jane and see how the afternoon session went!

and i was off again. on the way back, i again got a couple texts and a phone call-just checking in, which really did mean a lot to me--my thoughtful friends. when i got home, i packed the boys up, and took them to the vet. when we got there and i explained the situation, they made a spot for me and the vet came in and talked with me after taking bruno's temp. after looking at the records from his august comprehensive, he said he wasn't too concerned, as bruno hadn't been throwing up nor having diarrhea, and at this hour, he wouldn't be able to get the results back until the following day; how about bringing him back tomorrow, so that we can monitor him. he did give me some antibiotics, in case there was some infection that may have caused the bleeding. (which may have been a nasal passage issue, bleeding back into the throat the night before causing it to look like he was vomiting blood)...so the good news is that bruno has been acting his normal self, and seems to be fine. me on the other hand-still tired. like i said before, i truly had thought about laying down on the sidewalk to sleep at one point. and looking at the clock right now, i am off to bed-needs more sleep!
love this nugget! my loyal friend!

but on the bruno front, feeling much better-thanks to all who said a prayer and sent love-

bad day? buy cards! need a break? go talk about godzilla!

wow. this afternoon kinda' sucked.

then i had to do CAR pd...which went fine-we were able to get some questions answered that teachers had, which was good. then on the way home, i decided to make a stop at kroger for some cider. well...i stopped by the card and halloween section. you already know i am a sucker for cards, and spent way more than i'd planned on stuff for CAR teachers and cards (they had some AWESOME cards!). that was my therapy-i felt better because i knew that in my bag i had the underpinnings that would eventually create bright spots in other peoples' days. all good-i felt much better!

these cards are not just 'any' cards...i'm usually very particular about the cards i purchase, because as i read them, i usually analyze them and make sure they just right for the certain people i plan to send them to. so yeah...i got cute cards! and fortunately when i got home, there was a check in the mail from the healthy wage challenge for meeting my goal!! woohoo!!! totally worth it! and if you are a disd employee and considering the benefits of doing the cafe wellness program, i highly recommend it-the check in july is TOTALLY worth it!!
happiness=the perfect card that specific person!
the moment you get your entry fee back! snaps for perseverance and commitment! #teameffort
there were good things that happened today:
  • CAR PD went well, and my group was able to get things done
  • we got through most of our planning sessions, and they went well
  • i got to take the dogs for a walk
  • i got to wear my new pair of halloween socks that jeri got me 'just because'...she is so thoughtful!
  • i am making meatloaf
  • and my check from healthy wage came in the mail today!!
candy corn socks from jeri-they match my earrings!
***tuesday turned into wednesday...they week rolled on and before i knew it, i'd not finished my original post, so now i will bring it to completion****
thursday i was out for a morning for training, and it was okay, but i didn't leave with an overwhelming feeling of "i'm so happy i came." i don't mind going to training, but i have high expectations of trainings. the bright moment was deciding to take the stairs down rather than wait for everyone in the building who was leaving for lunch. so there's that.

when i got back, i had to get the copies ready for our common assessments for next week-our copier is on the fritz...it's one of those maintenance job-security machines. our maintenance guy will always have a job... but it really makes life difficult for the TAs.

we had our school quality review for personalized learning-which is basically just an all-day walk-through in which our central-staff pl folk were out scripting, observing and noticing what was going on, and then matching that up to the objectives and goals that we had set as a school. they were a wealth of information, and it's so necessary to have these types of visits-not so much to show off what we're doing, but to get an accurate portrayal and feedback of what is going well, and what are the opportunities for next steps moving forward.

what i really walked away with, is that we really have a lot to celebrate. with all of the perceived 'problematic-issues,' there are MANY great things happening at cabell! much of it is residual from last year, as we were able to get some things started to move staff (as a whole) in the right direction! thank you, joanne and sean! and of course much of it is due to the resilience and perseverance of the teachers who are carrying on the vision of what they want to see happen in their classrooms...and i would be remiss to not include our new teachers-we have some rock stars, and we're so fortunate that they chose to join our team at cabell, as they are certainly a valuable asset, and bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. do we have room for improvement? ABSOLUTELY!! but that's the most exciting part! i never want to reach the point where we have nothing more to work on, because that would breed stagnancy. and that would suck.

alrighty then, school stuff aside, oh...wait, not yet. last weekend-killed me! i was working on curriculum map-stuff all day saturday (until i realized it was 12:55 am, and i was getting tired)...so i finished on sunday around 8 pm. i did not sign up for this. but it's done, nonetheless.

so for real now, no more shop! (although that's really all i know these days)...yesterday i got home a little late because i went out after school with some friends and it was so refreshing to just talk about silly things with friends-to laugh about godzilla, the black stallion, aliens and trolls...and the cabbage patch hospital...i mean...those are the conversations that make life a little more interesting! i love finding commonalities and celebrating differences. there is nothing more rewarding than building relationships-i believe that is what God created us for.

i arrived home to jumping puppies. bruno was like, "where have you been?!? it's dark out again! i'm hungry, and i just want you to pet me twice and then feed me. that's all."  and of course chaco, "not me!! i just want to bark at you a couple times..wait, where's my toy? here it is! throw it until your arm falls off, please...or i'll keep barking! that'll teach you to not come back right after school, yeah." so, yeah, i felt guilty for about a minute, then once they were fed, they just found their respective places to lay down and sleep, and we were back to normal. my boys!

i should've gone to bed, but for whatever reason, i was thinking about an event from a few years back, and so i began looking through pictures. whenever i do that, my heart just seems to grow and i get that nostalgic feeling because memories of good times are so strong, and it just strengthens the bonds that i have with my friends...i'll be writing more letters this weekend-that's what it does to me. it makes me want to not lose that connection. i feel very fortunate to have so many amazing memories with such a variety of amazing people!

also in the not-extremely exciting category, i renewed my apt. contract-you'd think they'd want to start paying me for being the least annoying client...but no.
at least rent didn't go up this time
and then there's this: i don't get my own stationery back very often, but i got a letter from one of my former kamper/ princess/ ropes course friends! it's always a day-brightener to hear from friends! and a treat to see stationery make it's way back around!! thank you erin!!! -your fairy god-mother

and i think today i'm going to watch gotham (since hocus pocus seems to be unavailable on netflix..), and perhaps late, i will watch fellowship of the ring. these came up in conversation, and i've not watched fellowship in awhile, so it's about time to experience that eucatastrophe once again- gotta keep fantasy alive! i really need to go back and read some of the tolkien letters, and g.k. chesterton books that are sitting on my shelf!

it's almost time to go to orlando for inacol, so i am prepping the boys-hopefully they will be complete gentlemen with joanne...maybe bruno will warm up a little more this time (not holding my breath, because he's usually a one-pat dog, then he likes to find his own little piece of the floor to rest). i am looking forward to the conference-so many great sessions! i wish they were recorded! whenever you travel with people, you learn so much about them. i've found that being with colleagues away from the workplace is certainly healthy and quite enjoyable.

i love that it's halloween and it's still a bit drizzly out! time to make another coffee, sit back, relax and write some letters!
Chaco: Why don’t ghosts like rain on Halloween?
 Bruno: It dampens their spirits!
Have a great weekend!!

instruments for subluxations, blood-pressure kit and a hanger for the car keys

well, i did it. i went to the chiropractor, and they took x-rays and used some equipment designed by NASA to detect heat spots in my spine-which indicate possible subluxations (pinched or irritated nerves). this particular day, i walked into the office, and there was no one there, except bradley-who, looks kinda' like big boy only with orange-ish hair. i hate to say it, but he kinda' drove me nuts.
main entrance-it's a fairly new practice
when we were in the room where they pulled out the NASA equipment, it seemed like he was really trying to sell a used car. i said something that made him think of a joke, only it was from a stand-up comedian act, and when he tried to set it up and explain that part, then told the joke prefaced by "it was something like..." i should have known i would have to break out the fake smile and fake laugh. when he started to talk to me like a kid, i was really annoyed. he actually tried a CLOZE sentence with me, where he said something and trailed off at the end, leaning in to let me know i was supposed to fill in the blank. pretty sure he said: "so, if you know that it isn't helping, it's..._______" so i gave him my annoyed look and answered with my 'are you really doing this right now' voice: HARMING?. conversation didn't get better the longer he went on. finally the doctor came in to do the x-rays and she was normal.

what i noticed was that the appliques on the walls were slightly off centered or just 'not-quite straight' enough that a discerning eye would notice. not that i'm judging...but yes, i am kinda' judging. before i left, i was given the appointment card for the follow-up visit:
it's CRUCIAL to bring a spouse or a loved one! (not one of the three of us that showed up had a spouse or loved one with us...)

then i went back in to hear the recommendations and all goes along with that. it took a good 60-90 minutes. there were 3 other new patients, so the doc gave her introduction and like a powerpoint presentation of what chiropractic is, and how she got involved-her story, if you will. and then each person went back for the individual consultation. well...my x-rays showed what my body feels like, so i wasn't totally surprised.

i'd hoped that the back surgery a couple years back would've taken care of everything, but unfortunately during the past school year, my back has been getting progressively worse.

all sorts of interesting stuff going on in there! anyhoo, she said i was a good candidate and thought they would really be able to help (of course, i am certain they say this to everyone). BUT at this point, i just need my body to agree with me. i think part of the reason i don't get out and do things i really enjoy is because my body has been working against me, and i've just resigned myself to that for too long. i have a pretty high threshold for pain, but it'd gotten to the point where bending over to put on socks or pick something up off the ground hurt- i'm too young for that-

i need to get back to doing the things i love again.

so i started to think about all of the things could have contributed to all of this...

  • falling from the top of the tornado slide-kindergarten
  • makeshift high jump in our backyard in teguc and i totally over-jumped the mat and landed flat on my back-wind knocked out of me.
  • various roller-blading spills
  • 1 major car crash and 2 minor accidents (which messed up the cars)
  • falling jumping from an 8 foot retaining wall on a rainy night and falling (first acl tear)
  • missing my footing on a jump in a cave and falling on back from about 8-10 ft
  • airlines-lifting, stacking heavy suitcases and trunks because no one can travel with bags lighter than the 50 lb limit...apparently
  • being independent- getting a futon up to the 3rd floor alone, moving a love-seat down from the 3rd floor-and across the parking lot, rearranging/completely moving everything in the apt two times in two weeks when they did the floors...alone
i'm pretty sure there are other things i am missing, but that's probably a pretty good start. so i will be seeing the chiropractor regularly- it takes 20 minutes to get there, on a good day, and only 5 minutes for them to do their part...so yes, 40 minutes of travel for a 5 minute adjustment. worth it-the drive is relaxing for me.

so, they did the first adjustment the same day. the alternate doc was there, and he did the adjustment. he went in to ask dr. bri where the 'instrument' was. i'm sure this instrument has a name, but they just call it the instrument-i wonder if it just has a weird name, or they cannot pronounce it. i suppose if i were an inventor and could patent a device, i would call it something like the flickinbickenmcklickenspicken device...then people would always refer to it as 'THE DEVICE,' as well.
so yeah, i did just look it up, and it's called the  impulse adjusting instrument ...anyhoo-hopefully the whole sock and tying the shoe thing gets better with the next few visits!

new subject-bruno had his acl surgery! poor buddy...his leg looks like frankenstein's monster. he's doing pretty well. the good thing is that he is not a jumpy energetic one, so he's pretty good about lying down and resting, although there have been a couple of times that i've caught him contemplating a jump and stopped him. constant supervision. boys! so if i can't keep an eye on him, i have to cage him up. chaco may be a little jealous. "why can't i have a surgery?" "why can't i wear a cone?" i thought about going out and buying one for him so he doesn't feel so left out. not really, because that would be odd behavior...

tuesday is the final reveal for our secret pals at school-good times. it's been fun-i love doing stuff like this. there is something fun about giving. (only not when it's like giving taxes, or giving money to bruno's doctors)...

and i decided to try the more minimalistic approach with dressing during the week for school. my own uniform, if you will. going with khaki/tan pants and black shirt. easy. so on monday, i found some pants that i really like the fit of at dress barn. unfortunately they only had one pair and they couldn't order online. so she checked some other stores in the metroplex and found a store with 2 pair, so they ordered them to be delivered. i then got in my car and went to walmart because the target had closed down and i wasn't aware.

after pulling in, i got out of my car and was walking away and remembered i needed something from the trunk. so i reached for my keys to open the trunk...they weren't there. nope, once again-story of my life-locked them in my car! WHAT IN THE WORLD??! so of course, i had to stay with my car while i waited for the man to come and break into my car. it took him 45 minutes to get there and all of 1 minute and 42 seconds (approx) to unlock my door. boo. so i watched carefully and i think if i got myself a blood pressure kit, i could do the same thing. pump that sucker up, give myself the space to get a hanger in there and pop the lock! no problem-i could TOTALLY do it! they don't call me mcgeyver for nothing.
right there. there they are. just on the other side of that glass. just sittin there. STUPID KEYS!!!!
so i did use my time well-i took loose carts to the corral, and offered to take carts from people who were nearby to pass the time. when i wasn't being useful, i was leaning against the car trying to look cool. new trend-hanging out by your car at walmart-it's "IN." just ask the cool kids. so there was that. i got home much later than i had planned that night. double-boo.

and i said i was going to try the whole liquid-water color paints- i decided to go with neutral shades...yes i do need to adjust the pics with a level. i was too lazy. like the peeps at the chiropractor office (only i don't have to unpeel these from the wall).
from my favorite song on the GARDEN STATE soundtrack
i made it through field day yesterday. i cannot believe i didn't get any pics! it was brutal. we did hockey shots in the gym. the pre-k kids had never held a stick, so it was a great little motor-skills event for them. i had on my fake smile and enthusiasm all day long... and that was exhausting!! BUT the kids had a blast, and that's what really matters!

this thursday, it's off to berkeley, ca for our little teamsfest, teaching channel escapade! it should be really good for us- lots of valuable information and ideas for next steps and how to be really successful implementing this more personalized pd next year in a way that really benefits all of our staff. THAT is what i am looking forward to.

alright, enjoy your memorial day weekend, take time to honor those who have served and given their lives for our freedom-heroes.

pralines and cream used to be my favorite thing in a cone...now bruno is

it is saturday morning afternoon (i'm still pretending it's morning), and it is a beautiful day! bruno went in on thursday for his bladder-stones surgery. there is always that slight sense of anxiety even when you know the doc has done this a ridiculous number of times without incident...so it was good to get the call, "bruno is doing well, we got all of the stones, we took an x-ray and it looks like we won't have to do the more invasive acl surgery!" thank you dr.!

so i was able to pick him up yesterday and on the way down the hall as we walked away, he stopped and peed. a BIG ol' puddle! i was so happy! the fact that he is peeing is a relief, as he has been peeing tiny spurts here and there...

i should've taken a before and after pic of his cones. they gave him a generic piece, and it was janky, so i decided to go in and get a new one at petsmart. he was so thankful! and truth be told, he looks much more comfortable! chaco was starting to get really annoyed with the other cone because it was so big and clumsy that bruno was hitting him over and over when he'd turn around or get too close.
bruno in a cone.
so i stopped at the grocery store and picked up some necessary items for me...i am on a tzaziki kick...i bought some because i really like a cucumber dip (but i ran out and couldn't find any) and i know it is cucumber based. i have really enjoyed cutting up peppers, onion, carrot and throwing a tablespoon or two on, as it is low-calorie. i also got the necessary ingredients to make my salsa! it definitely has some heat this time! but the spices are just right...in fact, it tastes so good, i may or may not have eaten a ramekin without chips! oops #canthelpmyself.

i really like what we did out in the garden, there is still a bit left to do, but i didn't post pics last time of what we had done, so here you go...
tree cookies...a fun place to bring the kids out for class!

the new garden bed that will be producing cucumbers this summer!
one man's trash...found by our dumpster, we have re-purposed this headboard into a trellis for some honeysuckle.
getting excited about this summer's harvest! hopefully some of our staff will stop in to enjoy a bit of the produce!

i had the opportunity to go to a workshop yesterday and while she was not an overly exciting presenter, she did have some good exercises and explanations to help with the resilience and bouncing back of the brain.
one of the exercises involved thanking my feet(that was a first). during another one, i had 2 'safe places' (kamp and little cay) and put a fake friendship rock and shell in my pocket...
i doodle at workshops.

a few minutes ago, i looked over at bruno sitting by the door and said, "i love you!" and a split second later, the man on netflix is saying, "i love you too." what are the odds.

so, why the following picture? well you have to look closely and know your plants. the plant on top with the flowers is honeysuckle-one of my faves, and below it there, if you look closely, poison ivy. every year it's the same thing. i love walking our back trail, but i have to keep the boys on a short leash, because otherwise they will get too close and the oils will rub off onto their fur...but you have to get a little close to appreciate the delicate scent of the honeysuckle. so, i guess the moral is dare to get close enough to enjoy the beauty but be very aware and know where the danger is.

i have this crazy idea that spawned from an idea that we discussed at the workshop i went to, but i'm not sure if any of my old classmates will participate or not. if they do, i think it would there would be a really neat product that would be cherished for years and be very meaningful to all involved. project in progress..wait and see.

it's already the middle of april, meaning only a month and a half until summer!! there is SO much to do to prepare for summer training and for next year!! yikes.

bruno might be a little bit of a faker

today was half day of AVID training to wrap it all up, and it went really well. i hurried home (and by hurry, i mean i took the dart one last time and went as fast as that goes), to see how bruno was doing-he has not been himself; i thought he hurt his leg, because he had been favoring one side, limping a little and acting really strange. he's usually my shadow, but the last couple of days, he has been somewhat lethargic-almost melancholy. and today when i came home, he wasn't waiting for me, he was in the room laying on the ice pack i left for him this morning.

so i played with chaco for a few minutes and then took bruno in to the vet. so. we get into the little room and he's climbing all over me trying to get in the baby position (like burping a baby over your shoulder). when the lady came in i tried to explain how he was limping and favoring 3 legs over the one...and i set him down and walked from one side od the room to the other and he followed me back and forth without limping or anything. bruno may have been playing me!
the vet said she could tell he has luxating patella-bad knees. like owner, like dog (doesn't sound as convincing as like father, like son..oh well). anyhoo, she wanted to run blood tests again because i mentioned that he wasn't eating real well either. (she really likes blood tests, bruno asked if she was part vampire).

he asked me to hurry and take the picture because the white-coat lady might come back and the examination table was cold on his booty (he heard that term on miss congeniality-he loves that movie...sandra bullock fan)
and then she came back and pulled out the manipulatives for those of us who are visual/kinesthetic learners.
$100-some dollars later, the vet tells me that bruno's test didn't show much except that he was really dehydrated (which, in case you're curious, has absolutely nothing to do with his leg). so she gave me some medicine-stuff (gave means i paid for it). great. now i have two weeks of force feeding and trickery to get him to take his meds.

and once we got home, as soon as chaco heard the key in the door he was screaming bloody murder. he was not happy about me leaving him while we went to his favorite store. i even tried to hide the bag so that he wouldn't see, but he just knew. and not too long after that i came back into the room and:
guess who played in his water and then walked all over my spot on the sofa...and then pretended like nothing had happened, not realizing that his feet were still all wet.
chaco is the kid that eats the oreo cookies when he's not supposed to and has crumbs on his face, yet wide eyed insists that he didn't have any. but at least that doesn't cost me any money.

have a great weekend!

well, what does bruno think?

so before i turn it over to bruno, i was watching the dual survival guys again and to re-enact 'what might have happened when 2 hunters fell down a ravine,' one of the idiots is self-inflicting a laceration on his arm so that they can show the process of cauterization. so he's cutting a large gash in his arm, then putting gunpowder in the wound and then lighting the powder to burn and deaden the capillaries so it will stop bleeding. so, now you know. if you're bleeding...just go to the ER.

oh, and i got my canner today and i made strawberry jam! now i have to wait and see if i actually did it correctly-12-24 hours. i already heard one ping, so hopefully that's a good sign! i absolutely love mom's homemade jam! ok, here he is:

hi! i'm bruno. i asked if i could write sometime on the log. and mama said a log i something i should pee on not write on and then she said this was a BLOG. i don't know what that means exactly. but she said: be my guest. that's my favorite part of the musical with the pretty girl and the big man-dog. when the dishes are singing. mama's dishes sing to me. sometimes when they're sitting there with food on them, they beckon me over and sing, "eat from me! partake in this deliciosity!" and i do and mama never believes me, i get in trouble, but it's real...it really happens like that.

at first mama wasn't sure i'd be very good at this-something about rabbit trails. i've never been on a rabbit trail, but i'll bet it's pretty. i tried to eat some bunny trails ice cream-but it stuck on my whiskers and i got in trouble. mama tried to read watership down to me (it's a book about rabbits and their tunnels..chaco likes tunnels), but i asked her to read velveteen rabbit or peter cottontail or guess how much i love you with those two hares competing. at first i imagined hairs competing and i thought that was crazy..hair cannot hop up high. hair can't even talk and hair cannot go to the moon! didn't a monkey go to the moon or something? i don't like monkeys. they have hairy hands. i saw a picture mama started a long time ago but she never finished it, and the monkey is scary. if i better hands, i could do so much more! but i do pretty good for myself, all things considered.

when mama hurt her finger the other night, i was so scared! so now, i follow her around whenever she goes into the kitchen..or the bathroom..or her room..or anywhere..mostly because i really care about her-ok, not really, mostly because i'm hoping she'll think i'm super loyal and give me treats!!

today she left for forever and when she came home, we saw her from the window and i started barking like a crazy dog (i'm pretty sure she thinks it's chaco-i always make sure to point at him and roll my eyes when mama walks in). today when she was in the kitchen, chaco started barking like a girl at someone outside and mama said, "that's enough, we don't do that!" he looked at her and said, " you don't because you CAN'T-you're not a dog! but i'll bet if you were a dog, you sure would!"  and then we went to sleep again. that's all i got! oh, and i'm pooping outside a lot more.

don't bark, be loyal and poop outside,
bruno
