puppy photo shoot and preparing to come home

it is tuesday morning, and it is almost time to go-i finished some art-work and prepping some artwork for shea to finish! i cannot wait to see how it turns out! i am expecting to see postings about it! we'll be grabbing lunch around noon and then i'll be taking off for dallas to work on work. boo.

the boys have had a blast! this morning i downloaded the pics that shea took yesterday and because they came out so amazingly, i am posting another picture or 3 of them playing. smile.
bruno chillin in the clover

chaco posing-just enjoying a rest in the cool bed of green

the boys

the boys in a basket...chaco likes this about as much as the Christmas photos.

l to r: bruno, reagan, thatcher, chaco

brotherly love

reagan in the back is chaco's sister, thatcher, up front, has the same dad. they had so much fun together!
anyhoo, i don't think they're going to like the trip home-they're just getting settled in! in fact, it usually takes chaco a few days to settle and start eating, and today he was eating more of his food, so i know he's feeling pretty comfortable!

(later this evening)
went to grab gyros at a little hole in the wall restaurant with ally (we missed her all weekend because she was in the dallas/ft worth area for an interview) and they were phenom! then shea and i walked through campus and on back to her apt. it was a nice little walk.

boomer!
when we got home, we took the boys down to the basketball court to roam around because it's fenced in. well, they didn't exactly roam unless i walked around with them. and then one of shea's friends brought her mini dachshund down, but chaco was mean. he did so well with thatcher yesterday that i thought he would do well with another small dog...sophie was kinda in his face and kept going toward the face, which is when he gets defensive and snippy...i don't like people too close to my face either. anyhoo, they just kinda hung out in the shade while we sat in the sun...smart dogs.
smart doggies!
then i packed up and got ready for the trip home. shea packed up some fudge for the trip home:
the irony is that i made the fudge.
anyhoo, it helped keep me awake on the way home. in the process of packing up i took a trip down with stuff and the boys apparently sat whimpering at the door. when i got back up the second time and took my 2nd load down without them, chaco was yelping really loud, and i was hoping the door to the balcony was closed, because i could imagine him jumping to try to come with me. when i got back up shea said they went crazy running around the house. they knew we were leaving, and i think they were afraid i was going to leave without them.

when i got up in the morning, shea had found this website that she said kept her mesmerized for quite awhile; i watched it tonight and it is great-live feed of penguins at the san diego sea world!! if you have kids, they will love it! you yourself might love it as well! (i watched a big one standing there lift his tail and something...liquid poop...squirted right out from under there and he didn't even blush!) click here to see it, it's pretty amazing!

tonight i will go to bed earlier than i did this weekend!

painting, ted's not a mexican, and taking the dog to the yard where the tramp was

today we woke up to a beautiful day! it is in the 80's here in oklahoma. i'm sure you didn't realize that ok was a spring break hot spot. so i had my egg with flax seed and brushetta, and turkey bacon for breakfast, and i worked on a drawing for shea's next art piece. last night we finished our painting, and they turned out really cool.
there are more, so it looks kinda like mosaic tiles. i love the way they turned out! the only problem now is that i really don't have anywhere for them in my apartment right now with my colors.
oh, and we made the fudge yesterday and it's almost all gone, so we need to make some more for tonight's dinner (don't worry, we didn't eat it all, we shared a lot of it with friends that we went to dinner with last night).
shea really liked it..she licked the spoon and the cup...

we had a lovely dinner at ted's a mexican restaurant....i know, ted..not a mexican name. i don't exactly know how that came about-perhaps he married a mexican lady who made great tortillas...
i didn't get a pic of the lady making tortillas, but i got a pic of a girl trying to take a pic of the lady making tortillas.
we got to have dinner with katie and bmayes and brooke! i haven't gotten to see brooke in a long time, and she lives in norman now for at least another year, so i need to make sure that next time i'm up i make a point to see her as well! she's so much fun to be around!

so, once shea got up this morning, we went for a walk with the boys and then stopped at bmayes' house to play for a bit with reagan and thatcher! chaco loves playing with thatcher because he is about the same size! they were really cute! and reagan just kinda went off to do her own thing and bruno remained somewhat anti-social and did his own thing. he likes to pretend that he's too mature to do the childish things they like to do. but i could tell he enjoyed the yard!
reagan, chaco and thatch sniffin' around
and of course, there's the tramp in the back yard...don't be confused, it's short for trampoline silly people! they really liked hanging out underneath and playing in the shade and laying in the clover! and shea liked playing on the top and jumping!
i love the pic of the guy landing on his neck!

she's a jumper!
but she deserved to play for a bit because she spent a ton of time just taking portraits of the puppies! i will post more pics of them when i get them downloaded.

must go prepare part of dinner!

i'm sad that i am going to have to find homes for the chocolates tomorrow.

well, i never watch award shows...but i did record last nights(only to fwd through and see the parts dedicated to whitney).i don't like award ceremonies. and because i wanted to pay a little tribute to a legend, i also watched bodyguard yesterday morning.

hmm...i have my phone interview set for thursday night; they will send an email about 1/2 hour before the interview with interview content info...not much time to prep! but i am looking forward to it! i probably ought to let mom and dad know so that they don't try to call during that time!

tomorrow i need to get some more zucchini..smile. and i need to get some green tea. i've never really done green tea, but tomorrow i will imbibe.

the maintenance man came by today and changed out the fire alarm batteries, so now i feel much more secure! and relieved that i will not be woken up in the morning again by random beeping. (i'm glad that i didn't have to get on a ladder and do it myself, because my stepping ladder is not quite tall enough and i would have tried to awkwardly balance it on something else and probably fall off and break something...on my body. not ok).

i will let you know what comes of tomorrow..the valentine's day party should be a little more under control than the last one. i will also let you know what the boys get for me... as for the vday candy i will locate teachers who are willing to adopt the lovely little morsels. they need to go to worthy homes. i'm hoping for no creepy stuffed animals that the students think are so cute. otherwise, i will once again have to donate them to a worthy cause.

i am a little bummed that i agreed to do destination imagination volunteering because that is the saturday of a long weekend and i could've gone to oklahoma.. boo. i'm in need of a trip to see friends and go bowling and help shea with some artwork...and to make fudge that i cannot eat...maybe it's better that i wait until i can enjoy the fudge!

good night!

i wish i could eat kale every day..heh heh...

it's been a great day. i finished my application for the master's program and sent it off..no turning back, now it's just a waiting game. we'll see if i'm the kind of applicant they're looking for...i shouldn't be upset if i'm not because i've heard that they accepted mostly teachers from magnet/charter schools last time around. (i do not fall into that category) anyhoo, it's all out there.

this new way of eating has actually been going better than expected-if you don't mind, i'll share a pic from today's lunch meal.
the salad was delish...spinach, kale, blueberries, strawberries, sweet onion and oil and apple vinegar dressing.
for breakfast i had scrambled with green peppers and onions on a bed of kale with almonds. yes, you may have noticed that i had kale on both occasions...trying kale for the first time (it was first suggested by maria, but it was also on the menu list). unusually chewy. i need to cut it into smaller bite sizes. i never thought about really eating it because at applebees, we used it merely as a garnish (i hear it keeps the flies away).

one of my friends bought the ingredients to make the biscoff fudge, and let her kids try the spread (thinking they wouldn't like it because they don't like peanut butter) and when she went to open the jar to make the fudge, it was almost all gone. smile. it's addictive, so if you haven't tried it, you might not want to-save yourself the rehab bill.

i've got so much to do tomorrow...i wish i had another 3-day weekend! i have a sub this week, so i have to make especially good sub plans. i wish i could say that i am excited about the training, but i can't. well, i could, but it would be a terrible lie.

yesterday i was walking with chaco and an older hispanic lady was shuffling by. well, chaco kinda stopped and looked at her and she turned around and said, "yes, come here little puppy, come on, come home with me." and i just kinda' laughed a polite, "heh heh." (had i been laughing for reals, it would've be A HAHA!, but the heh heh is more of a fake laugh for me).

have a great evening!

i'm so glad they didn't throw away the fudge

when chaco and i stopped by the office the other day, we dropped the fudge off with shannon, and told her it was the biscoff fudge, and she said she have a piece a little later and give the rest to mandy- "mandy's going to love it!" so, when we left, i began to think to myself, "what if she's just trying to appease me and they don't eat anything from residents because they don't trust what they might get...what if neither of them actually try it, and they throw it away?"

so chaco and i stopped by on our walk tonight before the wind picked up and there was another dog-owner with a big dog, so chaco looked at me and said, "you'd better pick me up before i hurt this guy and it's an all out assault!" so i did, he only snapped at big dog a couple of times and growled. (it was a little shocking, yet somewhat endearing). but when we walked in, the first thing shannon said was, "oh my goodness, that fudge that you left was soooo good, we ate it all and didn't share it with anyone else. i need the recipe!"  so, apparently they are not afraid to try stuff. and so i told them i might use them as taste-testers once in awhile since gigi moved.(boo). mandy then informed that she really loved the santa cakesters- i liked them, but they were rich!

so tonight i am making recipe cards.

i found this receipt on my desk...
SHEET protectors for the students. (the other option really wouldn't make much sense)
the students LOVED putting 'special papers' in the sheet protectors.

is tomorrow really thursday? i cannot believe how quickly the days went by this week!
