note to self: no dehydrated eggs for the casserole!

i'm writing this post a bit early because i have just put a casserole in the oven. so what, you're probably thinking. well, i am using the dehydrated eggs and the dehydrated potatoes. so i am hoping i did the eggs right and don't get sick. i will say for the record that powdered eggs stink. keeping the fingers crossed because i am hungry and it takes 40 minutes! i would hate to have to scrap it and run down to the waffle house down marsh.

well, i gingerly raised the fork to my mouth and my nose was warning me not to do it..it went into my mouth and right back onto the plate. then i found something i could put the concoction in that would somewhat contain the smell and threw it away. waffle house, i'd call for reservations, but you don't take them.
so i ended up at waffle house, but the parking lot was packed..who knew waffle house was so popular?

good thing sonic is right next to waffle house, so i opted for a sonic burrito and french toast sticks.
i got the super sonic burrito, and it kinda' reminded me of when i was a little kid and they first had the self serve machines for drinks and it was the cool thing to go along and get a little bit of each flavor and make the "everything" drink. well, i looked into this burrito and it was like someone went down the line and got one of everything and shoved them into a large tortilla. (tator tot, tomato slice, jalapenos, sausage, eggs, onions, and i'm certain there was more). but the important thing is that it hit the spot and i will be alive to live another day!

i had to go to the grocery store-it's been a few weeks (the perks of being single), and i splurged and got some crab cakes-cannot wait to fry one of those up! i also got my ingredients for salsa. i have new favorite meal-refried bean tostadas. love love love them! i probably need to start buying uncooked beans and making my own, because yes, i love them that much!

one of my friends at school said she gives her dogs carrots as a treat. i bought some today to check it out and see if i can trick the boys into liking them, because that would be a great inexpensive treat!!
thanks raquel! i think they like 'em! they did this for awhile and made quite a mess, so then i cut them up into little bitty chunks, and they really liked that! i kinda got turned off on carrots when i was young because i had to chew so many times and then i almost gagged trying to swallow it. (i think i was trying the chew it 50 times thing). anyhoo, i really like cooked carrots -especially the way mom cooks them in with the roast on sundays! but i still struggle a little with raw carrots. it's just the way it is.

started early, posted late

when in doubt...eat out!
