i don't really know anyone from nyc. regardless, when everything unfolded on 9/11/2001, i do remember having a feeling of indignation. the patriotic spirit-how dare someone...anyone attack our nation in such a manner, unprovoked. watching some of the videos about it today on the history channel makes me even more proud of the fiber that runs through the heroes of the day.
i never really followed it or delved into it, but seeing the footage has really brought that lump to the throat a couple of times.
as i've been watching, i've been working on lesson plans and working on posters.

i need to get them laminated so that i don't have to keep on making new ones year after year! |
tonight i still have to work on finishing my grade inputs and getting my progress report info taken care of! so i'll work on that between finishing up a batch of truffles (hopefully they set!) the last time i was making a batch, i screwed it up because i thought i'd try to substitute hot cocoa mix for baking cocoa...it was
nas-tay! not to mention it didn't set, so i've kinda been wanting to make these for about 2 weeks now and broke down tonight. i need to jot down the recipe i like best because i keep trying new recipes and now i don't remember which ones are good and which ones are not!
tomorrow school goes on. it will be with a hint of sadness that many of us walk in tomorrow, because the familiar face of mr. hise will be replaced with the unknown for an undetermined amount of time. it will be interesting to see how the students respond, because they were certainly big fans!
tonight i am watching
prince caspian (chronicles of narnia). i've read it a few times, and i did watch the video once, but it was in french with subtitles...umm..oops. ok, off to check the truffles.
goodnight,
julie
