note to self: no dehydrated eggs for the casserole!

i'm writing this post a bit early because i have just put a casserole in the oven. so what, you're probably thinking. well, i am using the dehydrated eggs and the dehydrated potatoes. so i am hoping i did the eggs right and don't get sick. i will say for the record that powdered eggs stink. keeping the fingers crossed because i am hungry and it takes 40 minutes! i would hate to have to scrap it and run down to the waffle house down marsh.

well, i gingerly raised the fork to my mouth and my nose was warning me not to do it..it went into my mouth and right back onto the plate. then i found something i could put the concoction in that would somewhat contain the smell and threw it away. waffle house, i'd call for reservations, but you don't take them.
so i ended up at waffle house, but the parking lot was packed..who knew waffle house was so popular?

good thing sonic is right next to waffle house, so i opted for a sonic burrito and french toast sticks.
i got the super sonic burrito, and it kinda' reminded me of when i was a little kid and they first had the self serve machines for drinks and it was the cool thing to go along and get a little bit of each flavor and make the "everything" drink. well, i looked into this burrito and it was like someone went down the line and got one of everything and shoved them into a large tortilla. (tator tot, tomato slice, jalapenos, sausage, eggs, onions, and i'm certain there was more). but the important thing is that it hit the spot and i will be alive to live another day!

i had to go to the grocery store-it's been a few weeks (the perks of being single), and i splurged and got some crab cakes-cannot wait to fry one of those up! i also got my ingredients for salsa. i have new favorite meal-refried bean tostadas. love love love them! i probably need to start buying uncooked beans and making my own, because yes, i love them that much!

one of my friends at school said she gives her dogs carrots as a treat. i bought some today to check it out and see if i can trick the boys into liking them, because that would be a great inexpensive treat!!
thanks raquel! i think they like 'em! they did this for awhile and made quite a mess, so then i cut them up into little bitty chunks, and they really liked that! i kinda got turned off on carrots when i was young because i had to chew so many times and then i almost gagged trying to swallow it. (i think i was trying the chew it 50 times thing). anyhoo, i really like cooked carrots -especially the way mom cooks them in with the roast on sundays! but i still struggle a little with raw carrots. it's just the way it is.

started early, posted late

when in doubt...eat out!

and here's my 2 cents..take 'em for all they're worth!

alright, so some of you may remember when i got the check from at & t...well, imagine my surprise when another check came in the mail from them! i don't know if it's an adjustment or part of a class action lawsuit against them and this was my share for over charges or something...but again...don't care, i am getting my money!!

you have to admit that it is slightly ironic that it is 'two cents worth.'

yep, that's right...$.02

why do i let myself get excited? then the thing i wasn't as excited about caught my interest!
peel and taste, so i did
and after i checked it out...so did bruno and he told me limeade is NOT his favorite...he prefers lemon-berry slush. then i turned it over and saw the best part!
THAT'S what i'm talkin' about!
as a teacher, i'm just going to say it, there are some kids that walk into your class without having an foreknowledge about them and you make judgments. like the kid who walks in with the cute glasses and hair cut and you just kinda' automatically imagine that they are going to be brilliant. i hate it when i make those stereotypes and i'm wrong! on the other hand i love it when the ones i wasn't real sure about prove me wrong!

our principal is doing everything possible to get our kids excited about furthering their education, and one of the things he decided to do is to invite a busload of kiddos to a football game of the high school that they will eventually feed into. well, it ends up so many kids wanted to go that we now have 2 buses! and to bribe teachers to chaperon, they offered a free jeans-day during the week. well, apparently teachers really like their free time because they had to up the ante...TWO FREE JEANS DAYS! so, i decided to do it. bruno just looked at me and said, "sucka!"(but i do think it is great for the kids to see what they have to look forward to and start really thinking about it!)

i LOVE it when catalogs have these little dealies...i'm sure i have friends who are in need of pet catalogs! i'm pretty sure they'd be surprised that they are getting random catalogs in the mail...
be looking for your catalog! (baby hand claps)
right now i'm sure some of my friends are wishing i didn't have their addresses. hmm.

have a great night before the blessed friday before the incredible 3-day weekend!

tricky dice and the ice pea-shooter

remember how yesterday i said my car computer was screwed up? today i'm pretty sure it's true. i took the car to quick trip where air is free (i cannot believe the other station charged a dollar...losers. boo). anyhoo, when i put air in yesterday, it read: LF 31. RF 22 (SUPPOSED TO BE AT 30) and the next screen registered LR 30 RR 33. usually if it's within 1 or 2 psi, i'm not concerned because weather can change things...but it was telling me to check the pressure, and i didn't have my gauge with me, so i of course put air in the RF (right front, right?) and when i finished, i got back in the car and lo and behold, it read RR 51psi -i didn't even put air in the rear tire...(i didn't have time to let air out in the rain, i just drove slowly and got to school). so. today when i stopped at QT, (i wish it was DQ), i put air in the back right tire and let air out of the front right tire. when i got back into the car, my FR read 32 (when in actuality i let air OUT of my front tire) and the BR had actually gone down from 51 to 41 after i had actually added air...hmmmm. (was that a little hard to follow? sorry!)

today was day 2 of teacher appreciation week at school-loved breakfast!! and i loved happy hour!! (sonic     in the lounge..and when i say lounge, i mean teacher's lounge). i took my sonic strawberry lime-aid and sipped it right on down to nothingness...then i got rid of the limes and i was left with the best part! THE TINY ICE CYLINDERS!! they are perfect! in honor of TAOS ice tea in HONDURAS, i pulled out the straw and got the little ice bullets and began to aim around the room from my desk. it works like a pea shooter...only you don't have to go around and pick up the peas. i'm sure the janitor was probably wondering why there were mini puddles of water around the room...i may of may not have even set up a target. yep. 3 out of 10 from 12 ft...not too bad. (trajectory and wind conditions...)
see the diet coke bottle over there? they were probably goin' about 60mph..could've poked an eye in...
in HONDURAS when we'd go roleando, (rolling around..ok, cruising around the main drag between a few roundabouts), i'd get the TAOS tea and shoot the ice bullets at signs...i got really good at it too.

i'm not sure if i mentioned it on the blog or not, but i'm thinking about the idea of conditioning students with a clicker like training the dogs...i don't know if it would work or not, but it might be worth a shot.

pulled out the old trick dice the other day, and i've been using it with the boys..whoever rolls a 7 or an 11 has to take the garbage out...it was working and then yesterday and today, i'd roll a 7, bruno would roll an 11, roll again..11/11... 11/7...wait a minute what's going on here? chaco just sat amazed watching, and when he finally left the room bruno was laughing so hard, that's when he told me he snuck out to the exxon on the corner, and found some trick dice too. apparently he's been rolling dice with chaco-double or nothin' to do his chores...smart, smart dog. chaco still hasn't caught on, so i can still use it with chaco!

don't roll the dice unless you know how they're gonna' fall!
